Sports Injury Chiropractic
Have you ever sought out a sports chiropractor for a sports injury like a concussion, ankle sprain, or plantar fasciitis during training or sport?
Sports Injuries are often a combination of a few factors including overuse, repetitive movement, and muscle imbalance to the direct tissue or compensating tissues around that injury. It is important to know that a sports injury is not just about rest and medication, but rather being pro-active and attacking the injury to avoid missed time from your sport/activity. Most chiropractors claim to treat sports injury, but do not have the training or take the necessary continuing education courses to address management, evaluation, and finally, treatment of your sports injury.
Dr. Marion became a sports-certified chiropractic physician (CCSP) back in 2014, and has since taken continuing education courses addressing different topics of sports injuries, including imaging, rehabilitation, and management & evaluation. Additionally, Dr. Marion is full body certified in Active Release Techniques, a soft tissue technique aimed at addressing overuse and repetitive movement injuries to your muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia, and/or nerves.
He is 1 of only 2 sports certified and full body ART providers in ALL of Chicago. As part of maintaining his sports certification, additional coursework has included concussion evaluation and management, one of the more recent hot button sports injury topics. Many contact sports can lead to head injuries and it is important that you seek out help from the right health care professional when a concussion, or mild traumatic brain injury occur. These areas of interest coincide with Dr. Marion and Lincoln Park Chiropractic’s philosophy of keeping you active with smart, comprehensive medical decision making, to ensure a positive outcome for you.
